As a recruiter with 30 years experience, Fuente is just doing due diligence

that any employee should do. If you are working at a company, it is your duty to your shareholders (yourself, family or anyone depending on you), to be aware of what is out there. He checked out what possibly could have been a more suitable opportunity. For whatever reason, it didn't match up and now he is going to stay at his present job. I would be advising anyone on this board to do the same.
The only difference is, I would hope that everyone wouldn't have people at the hiring company revealing that they are talking to you to a journalist. And then said journalist tells the world. Then of course, there would be those in your company that would be calling you disloyal etc...
But I am sorry, it is a free agent world. The corporations set it up that way and we all work at the will of the employer, so keeping your options open and your resume up-to-date is the right thing to do. And that advice includes Fuente.
