At least you have options. I live 2.5 miles from the Virginia Tech campus.


I do have high-speed internet--my one choice there, of course, is Comcast. I still have a Verizon land line. Why you ask? No cellular service at my home. It's not exactly zero, but enough that I can't make or receive calls. It's good enough, however, to make WiFi calling not work unless I switch the cellular network service off.

My home phone was recently out (for the second time in 2 months). The technician came and told my wife "I seeing we've been having problems with the line here. I could set you up with a wireless box." My wife responded with "Does it work if there is no signal?" The technician then checked the signal level and said "Oh yeah, I guess I should have looked at it first."
