From the camp this weekend


No.....an emphatic NO! Coaches were clear to the kids - they don't want to change their hitting strengths. If you are a power guy, they want to help you be a power guy. If you are a gap to gap hitter, they want to help you attack in the correct count and with the correct pitches. If you are a speedster, they will help you hit hard balls on the ground rather than pop ups. Elbin (hitting coach) is just a pleasure to be around. He was on the phone with my son last night for about 20 minutes just talking about his swing and hitting drills to help refine it.....but not to try and create a steeper launch angle or more power.
