Forfeiting a game would adversely impact other programs as well

If the team they play is on the bubble, then how would getting a forfeit impact their chances? Or how would it impact any other team that is in competition with that program for a spot in the tourney? It could also mean a team gets a worse seed in the Big12 tourney because another team "won" against KU or KSU, so it screws them. I hope if they do something different that it impacts just those 2 programs. Something like making them play next year's games at a neutral site. Don't allow them to get any of the gate proceeds, and give it to some charity instead. Costs them both a home game (and the revenue gained from it), doesn't adversely impact any of the other teams in the conference, and does some good at the same time.
