Need Help with HDTV DVR Recommendation

Ok Folks --- I am 72 yo and fairly knowledgeable about internet tech

However, I am interested in your recommendations re: HDTV DVR Units
Currently, I have Comcast including a HD/DVR Box --- previously, I paid $5/mo for that Box --- but if I switch to a 2-bundle of just TV/internet, they will charge me $15/mo for the same Box --- over a 12-month period, that is $ 180 for the year and I own nothing

Thus, I am now looking a buying my own HD/DVR that gives me payback in ~12-14 months of around $200 --- can you guys (girls) give me some recommendations? and btw, I plan to use my new ROKU Stick for my second TV ---- yeah, I could use a ROKU for my first TV but I think my spouse might balk at any extra steps to change channels easily
