When Sergio Lopez was hired a year and a half ago, there were some uneducated posts about a mediocre hire by the AD. Lopez is an Olympic medalist himself and now one of his star swimmers that he coached before he came to Tech, will begin to train with Lopez's "pro" team here in the New River Valley. The swimmer"s name: Joe Schooling, the defending Olympic GOLD medalist in the 100 fly. When he won that medal, I believe he broke a record set by someone named Phelps. Pretty cool.
