Actually I was agreeing with your point that it is unlikely

VT will be able to go toe to toe with the blue bloods. Some Hokie fans may think it is bush league to see VT go the Boise State route in order to achieve a win. However, if VT wants to change people's perception, then Hokie fans (and the program) may have to swallow their pride and resort to pulling out all the stops (including the kitchen sink) in order to start winning more marquee games.

You are right that VT's coaches will have to out coach the opposition. Also, you may be right that it is unlikely the current staff can out coach the opposition. However, I am not going to assume that VT will never have a coaching staff between now and eternity that is good/above average/great at out coaching the opposition. Now I am not suggesting that this future staff will lead VT to the mountain top and finally put the trophy case, which I think was re-purposed to promote the game of cornhole, but I do think this future staff could have a winning record in marquee games.
