Players are allowed to sign with NFL teams at the end of the XFL season. Players who get free agent contracts still will have a few months to rest before training camp starts. I don't think the XFL is asking too much. They are giving players a chance to showcase their talent. In return they are only asking for one season. It would ruin teams mid-season if guys quit playing as soon as a NFL team signed them.
