Meaning it requires a full-time level of effort while it’s happening
But is not a full-time job. Correct me if I’m wrong but there are many adjuncts out there trying to break into full time faculty roles that put in the effort off the clock that equals what a salaried employee would. For every hour teaching in class how many did you spend outside of it working on the various aspects of teaching it?
Personally I believe that work while being conducted deserves a living wage which is not that much. Maybe it’s not a full year thing, but you should be able to support yourself during that phase.
