the key difference is many of those Duke and Carolina frosh are the one and dones and won't be around in college in 2+ years.

That's where many here (including GCHokie34) have pointed to 2+ years when this freshman class are juniors to really start seeing the dividends, including an incoming FR class next year that will be sophs.

Yes, LN II may not be part of things at VT by then, but many FR on the team now will be, including as much better players with considerable help.

Ask Roy and K how well they've done in reaching their ultimate goals (NCAA championship) with the One and Done model? (Hint, only 2015 for K, 5 years ago)

As Mike Brey likes to say, "get old and stay old", as per the link below. Jay Wright at Villanova won 2 Nattys with that type of veteran leadership and player development.

I think Mike Young is starting to work towards a very similar model at VT in laying the foundation this first year. Give me great coaches with veteran developed players every day. Especially those with the talent that are in for the long haul.

I think we have a few of those in maroon and orange already!
