have to make now. Those living during The Great Depression and World War II went through what we are going through now. 9-11 was probably the closest thing but that was short-lived in most of the nation (except for NYC area). In my lifetime, I've experienced gas shortages of the 1970's, a few stock market collapses, and hurricanes/blizzards, but nothing at this scale. My parents always talked about growing up during the depression and experiencing all the struggles during WWII (tire, gas, sugar and other rations, conserving food and energy, and most importantly sending their young men to battle). Those born before 1945 made it through that and we will too.
