I still think of FCS as D-1AA


The article you linked discussed the student demographics of the school being 60/40 female and compliance with Title IX means that women's scholarships need to be about the 60% of athletic scholarships. Currently, the school's demographics are 58/42.

With that number, going from 63 to 85 scholarships to be in FBS would mean that they would have to come up with 22 more women's scholarships, or cut 22 from other men's sports which would jeopardize them remaining a D1 school since they wouldn't have the minimum of 6 men's sports.
