We will be an NCAA Tournament team again but I just don't see it happening

this upcoming season. Probably the next year after all the young and new players get experience and everyone has more time playing with each other. The freshman and transfers have to adjust to more than just basketball. Both Geiman and Fegue fought injuries last year. Geiman didn't have much experience because of it. Fegue will give us minutes when we need it but she still did not get a full season in. Both have great potential. You also have Ennis who had very limited minutes as well. There is a difference between playing limited minutes all season and playing a full season though. You learn more the more you play, even though you can learn a lot just sitting on the sidelines as well. In this conference with the teams we have, it will be even harder. The ACC was down last year, it won't be this season unless the virus shuts it down. Post wise I am not worried, but guard wise it is going to take time to develop besides Sheppard and maybe King. I see King being a 3 point shooter for us as her role with all the other guards coming in. Jones also never played a minute last year because of transferring so she has no in game experience with us even if she has had experience with another team. Not sure if she was allowed to practice with the team but even then, this is a whole different team this year and practice is not games. I think she will be good though and might be the number two post for us. Look at Kitley, she didn't really start clicking until mid-season and got better and better, but that is due to her dedication to wanting to fix all of her mistakes. Kenny said he has never had a player as determined to fix their flaws then Kitley. Then you also have a new point guard most likely in Amoore with the new transfer being her back-up. Neither has experience running the point for us but I think Amoore has great potential. But that position goes a long way in the success of a team. Look at what Cole did for us in one year. It will be really hard to replace her. Transfers like her do not happen very often for us. In fact she might be in a class of her own. By far she is the best transfer we ever got. Would not mind having her as an assistant to be honest if the WNBA or overseas does not work out. Once we develop chemistry and have experience on the court against good teams we will be good again, but there is a lot of work that goes into that. Just because they come in with talent and are more athletic does not automatically mean everything is going to work out and be better. We are always hit with the injury bug as well. If they even can play this season I see us getting to the WNIT just due to all the new players and players with not as much experience. I would love to get to the NCAA Tournament again officially though. I just wish we could have one off season where we don't lose players to transferring. But that is getting worse and worse every year with almost every team so it is just part of the game now.
