This Justin: You Ain't Seen Nuthin Yet

Disturbing to me to see all the coach bashing. I like Fuente, I think he's an excellent coach and a really good guy who represents Tech very well. Recruiting is a lot harder than it used to be; unless you have a national presence at a sleeping giant (Mack Brown) or a transcendent personality (PJ Fleck), you are going to struggle. The 4 and 5 star guys just aren't going to the second tier schools.

I think you will see just how good Fuente is when we drive him out and he goes to a SEC or Big 12 school with more resources. He probably should have taken the Baylor job, but to his great credit, he wants to finish what he started here.

If you think things are bad now, just wait. College football is in the midst of a revolution. To whit:

1. Attendance was already trending down, and the pandemic will have a devastating effect
2. The rich have been getting much richer. Only about a dozen schools can land the real blue-chips and compete at the top.
3. The transfer waiver and NIL changes are going to be massive! Players will go to the money. Top performers will transfer to the money. It will all be about the money.
4. Conference realignment will soon follow. The new model will be prohibitive for the Vandy's, Wakes, Kansases, etc.
5. The NCAA will become irrelevant. Conferences will take over. The SEC will become the NFL farm system.

Stop thinking about the good old days, they are gone. (By the way, the last few years before Fuente were not very good; it was time for Frank to go, despite being a legit all time great.) Get used to the new realities, and get behind our very good coaching staff.
