I saw that she was announced as the Gatorade POY even though VA didn't have a softball season. Very weird. This award, much like the rankings, are based on what coach or team submitted an applicant. I've never heard of her and have been involved in travel ball in the area for some time. She plays for TN Mojo (also played with Hanover Hornets) which is a good travel team and they play in different tournaments than we did. A 2021 kid with good size committed to Michigan (full ride) who was 1st Team All-State in class 5A must be pretty talented though. Visited East Carolina, Duke, Ohio State, and Georgia. Sorry I don't know much but this I was able to glean from the web as I was curious too as we know several people who won this in other states too.
