Silly accusation. I'm not denying that he was a hero to some at some point

nor is there any piece of history I'm revising. A statue is an honor. Occupying a space in the public square is an honor. Being a hero to some at some point in history does not entitle honor in perpetuity.

As I said before, the fact that it was a gift does not change whether or not Columbus deserves to occupy a public space in 2020. Like I said before as well, Italian Americans do probably deserve an honor to their tribulations, that does not require a statue of Columbus remain standing.

I will agree that doing this unilaterally was the wrong way to do this.
