I love the butts in the seats metric......

Let's keep a coach as long as the fans keep supporting the program, even if the product on the field is sub-par. When the fans, who have been loyal for decades, finally give up because they are too fatigued to witness the product in person anymore, we fire the coach. The new coach comes, and the hope is that you get back half of the folks who learned that there are more options on a Saturday than college football. Not to mention, that new coach's starting line is nestled between the Wake Forests and Dukes, and not the UNC and Miamis. In sum, in order for the butts in the seats metric to actually work, fans would have to stop what they enjoy doing when they get a taste that the program is heading in the wrong direction.......because if they keep showing up, the coach stays.

How about we just use the top-25 metric? Let's not put this on the fans...
