What was the average margin of victory? You only need to win by half a

point. Looking at it, the average MOV is 22.25. Also, Ohio State won with only 102 points and PSU won one with only 109.5 points.

Tech needs some parity to keep the top scores down like in 2014 and 2015.

Look at 2016. Tech finished 4th with 82 points. Tech had something like this (may not be 100 percent accurate, but it is close):

Name-Placement-Points
Dance-DNP-1
Chishko-6-10.5
Brascetta-3-13.5
DMF-6-12
Epperly-3-20.5
ZZ-DNP-2
Haught-6-9
Walz-4-13.5

-6 AAs
-82 total points
-47 placement points
-13 bonus points (7.5 from Epperly's epic run through the consolation bracket).

Let us say Tech can get something like this in two years:

-Champ-16 placement+4 adv=20 (Lewis)
-3rd-10 placement+3.5 adv=13.5 (Bolen)
-4th-9 placement+3.5 adv=12.5 (Latona)
-4th-9 placement+3.5 adv=12.5 (Andonian)
-6th-6 placement+3 adv=9 (Brady)
-6th-6 placement+3 adv=9 (Catka)
Total = 76.5

-Say 10 percent more in bonus, and you get to 84.
-If you get three points from two more non-placing qualifiers (8 total qualifiers), that gets you to 87.
-If you can get a 7th AA (say an 8th place and 9 total qualifiers), that gets you to 92.5.
-If Bolen can win it all, that gets you to 99.
-If everyone except for Lewis and Bolen can move up one place, that gets you to 104.
-If you can get 1.5 points from a 10th qualifier, that gets you to 105.5.

Yes it would be extremely tough, but who knows. Tech probably needs to get more top-15 overall type recruits.

Also, this analysis is pretty meaningless, especially considering I know very little about actually wrestling, but it is a message board so what the heck.
