My parents have an LG that always jumps back to the stupid home screen

with no setting to change the behavior which weighed heavily in my caution. I'm glad to assume from your post that that is not as common as my experience suggested.

I have two dumb screens that have PCs hooked up to them for nearly a decade, so I haven't really put any time into looking around in a while.
