Strange how other western countries have basically eliminated it
And here we've managed to only make it worse to the point where liberal college presidents are throwing in the towel that there's nothing we can do.
Germany opened bars and restaurants a week before where I live in Texas did. Their sports leagues have been going for a month now. Population density in Germany is 594/sq mi and it's 107/sq mi here in TX. Other European countries got hammered about a week before NYC did and they're all but recovered, sports have started across the board.
Germany peaked at 7,000 daily cases in March and had 650 new infections yesterday. Texas peaked yesterday with over 5,000 and that number will keep growing forever based on what Abbott has said.
Bottom line is the US had their shot to control it and get back to regular life. Leadership managed to screw it up more than one could think is humanly possible and now it's a permanent thing that will kill more Americans over time than any war we've taken part in with the exception of maybe WW2.
