Obviously the risks are different than injury concerns but I wouldn't put it past a handful of elite players that are high pick projections to take time away from their teams (if freshmen, just not even show up) to privately train or simply just have more individual control over their schedule and exposure. (Disclaimer: I'm on the side that believe the virus response is overblown but that's neither here nor there.) There will undoubtedly be some major players in the national landscape who don't want any part of the risk involved in coronavirus. It obviously won't be anyone from our team (if they sit out because of coronavirus it won't have to do with the upcoming draft, it'll be entirely health-related.) So all that to say, I wonder if we play any teams this year that lose a player because of the surrounding pandemic. Maybe Duke or UNC or Louisville? Who knows - we might benefit through all of this!
