I don't understand


Seems like you are contradicting yourself here, just as the conference leadership is. You say maybe it reduces the likelihood of an outbreak. Ok. Soooo isn't the point of reducing an outbreak to save lives. Thats fundamentally the whole reason for reducing an outbreak right? Football games are being tied to the risk of covid spread ie risk of lives. Then you state (correctly) that P5 programs want to play some sort of season for $$$ and they are doing whatever they can to salvage a season. For $$$.
Can't have it both ways. Are they concerned about risk (saving lives) or do they want to make $$$. You can not wave the flag of football games being a risk of lives and then say its ok to play 60% of them because thats how we make the lions share share of our money.
Personally I'll take the conf only season over nothing but how can anyone defend this plan with confusing thoughts mixing up safety and money
