... reported yesterday, which is something like the third single-day record set this week alone. That means that, using a conservative fatality rate of 4%, 2,680 of those people will ultimately die from it. When the conference commissioners and the TV networks finally have to decide whether to fish or cut bait, we're gonna be losing between 2,000 and 3,000 per day, up substantially from the 800-1,000 that we're losing now. There's no way that the season can be played in those circumstances.
We could have successfully nipped this thing in the bud by taking decisive action early on like other countries did. But we didn't and then we compounded the error by trying to re-open too soon. So now we're just going to have to deal with the fallout.
