Bc there’s over 160 strains of the rhinovirus (common cold)
That’s one of the big reasons. There’s one strain of Covid 19 that they are making and effective vaccine for. The common cold is a whole different animal. It’s very difficult to develop a single vaccine that will cover 160 strains. Think about the flu vaccine. Every time it mutates and there’s a new strain you have to get a new flu shot. Are you going to go out and get 160 common cold shots? No, you aren’t. So that is why in a quick nutshell. There’s also more too it but I’ll save it for my next Ted Talk.
