I continue to think WVU is the best choice for what we need in the ACC, and that's more natural rivalries and another member who travels well and can sell tickets to football, basketball, baseball, etc. The West Virginia diaspora in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and the Carolinas would help much in doing this.

Outside of your list I'd think that the ACC would evaluate another major market city school like we have with BC, Pitt, Georgia Tech, Louisville, and Miami. GT is perhaps all of Georgia, but they do put us in Atlanta.

So then I go with: 1. Temple - ACC needs more presence in the Mid-Atlantic after loss of Maryland. Temple would put us in Philly, and Temple has shown some competitive teams this past couple of decades. ACC schools have hired away their coaches, so they've done well. BC hired Addazio, Miami hired Golden, GT hired Collins, Baylor hired Rhule, and now BC has hired away the AD Kraft. ND and Penn State sell out games in Philly. Good recruiting turf. Just a market fit.

2. USF - ACC already is in Florida, but not on I-4. Tampa is a fast growing market and USF has progressed much in athletics in the past 20 years. The same could be said for UCF as well in Orlando.

3. Houston - This one would be stepping the ACC out into another fast growing state by entering its largest market, and it would provide some good opportunity for the ACC Network.

4. SMU or TCU - Similar to Houston above. This is the second largest market in Texas.

5. Cincinnati - The Bearcats would fill in more of the midwest for the ACC landing us in a metro area of Ohio. There are some natural rivalries with Pitt and Louisville with Cincinnati.
