Sounds plausible, except for the part about keeping the Navy rivalry.

First of all, ND to the Coastal is a great idea, as it already has several historical rivals (GT, Pitt, Miami, UNC), and the Coastal fits ND’s academic profile. But adding BC as their cross-division rival implies two things: (1) adding another team to the Atlantic, and (2) a 9-game conference schedule (one cross-divisional rival and one rotating team from the cross-division). That leaves only three non conference games. One of them would probably be USC. Another would have to be the 1-and-done Group-of-Five team ND plays every year (this year it’s Western Michigan). And the third would likely be a home-away series with a quality opponent. There’s no room for Navy, since that would mean playing only six home games every season. Unless they can get Navy to agree to playing only in South Bend.
