I just do not see ND totally dropping from big boy football. They will fix it where they get what they desire. Probably make some conference look like tools in the end game. You can't blame the Irish if so. If you got power use it. I personally see a group of teams together with about 8 games scheduled as conference . If ND involved USC and whomever could stay on schedule. Like stech said Texas would possibly be involved.
