Despite receiving plenty of interest from other power-five football programs recently, Lucas said he was only waiting to see if one school would offer him: Virginia Tech. The Hokies have been talking to Lucas since his sophomore year but still had not extended a scholarship offer.

“If they really wanted me, they would have offered me a while ago,” Lucas said.
