I see a six step process:

Step 1: Players demand and get a 50-50 revenue split.
Step 2: Universities bump the students activities fees substantially as the only way to balance the athletic budget and comply with Title IX.
Step 3: Students have trouble paying the bumped activities fees.
Step 4: Enrollment drops
Step 5: Revenue drops
Step 6: Universities drop football & most sports become club sports.
