Some interesting data from CDC
Almost 51.M tests administered. 9.4% positive (4.9M). 3.8M cases.1136 per 100,000 hospital admissions (still above epidemic levesl), 141,677 deaths (2.9% of positives and 3.7% cases). Based on death certificate data, the percentage of deaths attributed to pneumonia, influenza or COVID-19 (PIC) decreased from 8.1% during week 27 to 6.4% during week 28, representing the twelfth consecutive week during which a declining percentage of deaths due to PIC has been recorded. Note the inclusion of pneumonia and and influenza data. The percentage is currently above the epidemic threshold and will likely change as additional death certificates for deaths during recent weeks are processed. Data always lags a bit but 12 straight weeks of decreasing is a trend.
