There's been tons of outcry against it
I've seen -- literally -- hundreds of posts like yours pointing out protestors not wearing masks on message boards, Facebook, comment sections.
Although almost all the protests are outdoors and air currents outdoors carry droplets away much better.
Indoors ---> much worse than outdoors
Proximity ---> worse than distance
No mask ---> much more likely to transmit to someone than if you ar masked
Long duration of being near other people --> much worse than short duration
So the protests and rally were the same on #3 and #4, for the most part.
I think people were closer seated next to each other in an arena, basically touching when there wasn't an empty seat next to you, than protesters who were probably 2 or 3 feet apart for the most part. (And oddly, the arena wasn't half full, but instead of spreading out, the lower deck was packed while the upper deck was empty, also poor judgement).
And of course indoors is worse than outdoors.
So going to the rally was definitely worse than a protest.
But I will say that if I were to attend a protest, even outdoors, I would probably wear a mask and people that didn't probably should have. It's still a large crowd of people with proximity and duration.
