Based on how the current NCAA bylaws are written, this is a 1 time


exception given the unique situation. Depending on the state of the country, this exception could be extended to 2021 if necessary. I doubt it would be extended to 2022 though. If the country does not have a better handle on things by 2022, then we have bigger problems to worry about than a CCG.

FWIW I don't believe the ACC will be able to get enough support to change the bylaws because the other conferences don't want Notre Dame to be able to compete in the ACC's Championship Game as a non-member on a regular basis. The ACC has already tried it once before and the Big Ten led the charge to shoot it down.
