Dumbest idea I have heard is from uva-c.

They are mailing test kits to every student before the semester starts. They are to swab themselves and send the test to a third party lab (in California!).
THEN they can come to Hooville.

This leaves out any possibility of contracting the virus between self administered test and arriving to Charlottesville Comm College. Plus the gap — it could be 2-3 weeks between a swab and the trip to genius land. Beyond that - 22k tests going to one lab on other side of the country isn’t logistically smart either.

Makes much more sense to have the kids tested upon arrival. There are multiple rapid test platforms that could be used that are far more effective, timely, and less expensive than this. Beyond that - the med center there has every single toy to test with in its lab - why not use those?
