Maybe he saw an action he could take that would
allow him to achieve his most important goals. By forgoing this season, he:
1. Protects his draft status. He was rated the #1 CB in coverage last season. That ranking can only go down if he plays.
2. Protects his health. He’s had injuries in the past. Why risk another for a season that may not even happen? A season that, if started, might not be completed.
3. Protects his father. CF lost his mom. His father list his wife. Who the hell are we to judge their decision to live together? Perhaps that’s what they both need right now. Or maybe what one of them needs right now. That’s love.
It seems to me that the only way to be critical of his choice is to push all of that aside and only view the situation through the lens of a VT fan with nothing to lose by CF playing. Seems selfish to me.
