I think they'll walk this back to some kind of delay/postponement
The Big Ten hasn't officially cancelled the season. They put out the schedule last Wednesday, and then floated the idea of cancelling over the Weekend. The reaction they got was the high profile football coaches in the conference pleading publicly for the season to not be cancelled.
The Big Ten is scheduled to start 2 weeks before the ACC starts and more before the SEC. I think they may come out and set the schedule back 2-3 weeks to buy 2-3 weeks more time to watch the students return and see what happens. ND has returned its students doing close to 12,000 tests and only having 33 positives. 99.7% tested negative. That's great news for the 12,000 students back on campus.
