I think it’s dumb

That NCAA doesn’t allow conferences to choose their champion the way they want. Requiring divisions for larger conferences is stupid. I understand not wanted ND to slip into a championship game by not being a full member but other than that the ACC should be allowed to go divisionless. Play three rivals annually and rotate five and five on alternating two year schedules could work well. At least you play all conference teams twice every four years and your main rivals annually. Pick the top two teams for championship either by record or CFP standings. That way you get the two best teams every year and a better conference championship game. This model could also work for Big Ten or SEC. Now if the ACC could land ND full time and add another school then the four pods make sense.
