This is the unrecognized liability I'm highlighting... It's not replay...
While there is no guarantee any strategy will produce the desired results, a coach can certainly do things to improve the odds. It was beyond evident while the drive was occurring that there was no desire for us to end the possession with little or no time left. Once we approached UNC territory with 3 time outs and 2 minutes left, with UNC having limited time outs... you must burn clock. If you score quickly, so be it... but the last thing you want to do is not score and leave time left.
Now, I fully agree that I benefit from replay on second-guessing the throw on 3rd down... cause while I didn't like the call and the result - I'm sure there was a good reason they though it would work. BUT - there should be little dispute that the clock management was atrocious, that it cost us 7 points, and that could have been the difference we needed to make up for a porous defense.
