It would surprise you how you Just. Don't. See. It. When editing.


I miss stuff in CC's articles all the time. The other day, he typed Wake Forest when he meant Boston College -- or vice versa, I don't recall. I caught it and fixed it.

He also did it in the OPENING PARAGRAPH of the article, and I missed *that* one.

I know for me, I edit quickly, because there's so much else to do. I'm sloppy while editing and prone to skimming without really reading. It takes discipline to slow down and truly edit well.

Online stories tend not to be edited at all, or editing by someone like me, who's in a hurry to get back to other work.

That said, three errors in two paragraphs? That's a lot.
