against quality teams. 8 of their first 9 games were against Top 14 teams (3 in the top 3). They lost 1-0 to UNC, UVA (in OT in 2nd game) and to U of L. Shows me that their defense was okay. Only in a few matches did they get "punished" (FSU, Clemson, and game #1 at UVA). They are better now than they were a few weeks ago. When they started out at 0-3 in the ACC, I thought they would end up in the bottom 2 or 3 in the conference, but they fought on and improved. I didn't think they had any chance of making the ACC tournament after that 0-3 ACC start. I agree that this team has several issues (mostly offensive), but they are young and and let's be honest, our talent level will never be that of FSU, UNC, UVA, Notre Dame, and Duke. It also would've been nice to have one of our best offensive players not playing in the Ukraine this fall. I hope Emily Gray gets an extra year of eligibility. Chugger needs to improve the offense next season, but attracting great offensive players to come to Blacksburg isn't easy to do when you're competing against the ACC blue bloods.
