I'm kind of amazed at the number of folks who seem to misunderstand what

it means to be an introvert, which some posters seem to believe is Fuente's undoing.

First of all, Frank Beamer was an introvert. I have no doubt about that. If you spent any time around him for an extended period, then you appreciate that. He preferred keeping to a close group of trusted friends (Ballein, Greg Roberts, John Lawson, and so forth), rather than being a hail fellow well met person.

One should not conflate outgoing/friendliness with introversion/extroversion. You can be outgoing and an introvert. You can be withdrawn and an extrovert. It's a question of how you draw your energy. Yes, extroverts would have an easier time as recruiters as they would be more tolerant of spending 16 hours a day on the phone and social media with recruits. But it's not like hiring an extrovert is the key to all of our recruiting deficiencies.
