I agree that Whit and Fu seem to dismiss the importance of the bowl

Is means a great deal to those that were around to see the other side of this. I graduated in '93 so was only on campus for the down years. When Beamer turned it around, it was just so special.
By the way, during my time on campus particularly in the fall, I would see more VT students wearing other university gear. That changed with the rise of VT football.
