The shame is it woulda only been roughly 17 days of work/practice

The season ended exceptionally late this year so you're only talking roughly 2.5 weeks of extra football, and you get some practice in. Just 17 days more "work", which should be "fun", in order to keep the streak alive (which some fans find meaningful).

I understand there was some division in the lockerroom in previous years, with some teammates wanting us to lose on purpose. Well, if you require a near unanimous vote of 85 people and treat it like a democracy you're going to get division. Certainly doesn't instill unity, and maybe that type of "nice" approach is part of the issue.

Now, if they declined because they felt they didn't deserve it, I can respect that altthough I thought they battled through a tough year and did earn it. However, if they declined cause they'd rather see their family/friends 2 weeks earlier and don't want to do more Covid tests that is really disappointing - and probably reflects why we have had subpar records over the years.
