If only it were that simple. Printers are some of the very best technology

buys in this day and age where you can buy a device that may well last you 8-10 years and still be able to find consumable supplies that will work with it during its entire life time. Because of the competitive landscape, printers are low margin and the consumers benefit greatly from the many choices they have at hand.

As an aside, if you have high print volume or run a business, you can get your printer for free and just pay a per page price.
