My grandfather, who we lost to brain cancer 11 years ago, would call after every HOKIE victory and after my hello greeting he would say, "How about them HOKIES". We knew when the phone rang it was papaw. Anyway, Mike Young uses the phrase often. I always thought it was something my papaw just liked saying but now with MY's usage I was wondering if it may have been a catch phrase associated with the HOKIES from years ago. Anyone know? The phrase has much sentimental value to me, and I was just curious.
