BIL retired from USPS and USN

He retired from the Navy and got on the USPS in Western PA on a veteran's preference. Spent a couple years inside and hated it for all the reasons people list below - monotony, dealing with the union, etc. Once he got a route, though, he loved it. About half was driving, half walking. That said, he did 20 in the Navy without a scratch (crew member in a P3), but in his 20 with the USPS, he had surgery for a torn rotator cuff and heel spurs and had two very slips that resulted in very serious ankle surgeries. He loves the outdoors and loved that job until his body wore down.
