Yep...
it was intense.
The non-high school portion is a big lottery. We did Don Estridge for middle school for the two boys. That was nerve wracking and then we found out about Henderson...
The older one chose FAU over the IB program at Atlantic. He was a 10th grader taking college classes at FAU. My wife had a hard time letting him do this. That was until she saw him tutoring other college kids at 14/15 in the library and realized that he was where he needed to be academically. I have always asked him...is this where you want to be? are you happy? and all of that stuff...He has always pushed himself. He does have hobbies and friends too...he plays lacrosse (or played) and does stuff with clubs so I don't feel bad.
We had a windfall and the younger boy went to Saint Andrews (and played Lacrosse). The other choice was our neighborhood school and none of our neighbors had a good thing to say about it so...it was an easy (if expensive choice- but they did reduce it since to SA...we are poor).
