It's not like you are pulling your cleanup hitter. You send the righty pinchhitter to bat against lefty pitcher. I'm sure coach has a feel for how Jones fares against lefty pitchers and that's why he lifted him. You want righty vs lefty there if you can. And Seagears is a third year guy.
