DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.....
Don't get me wrong, Perfect Game is at the forefront of the travel baseball circuits though PBR (prep baseball report) is definitely nipping at their heels. Both programs have strong infrastructures that ultimately draw in the best travel clubs in the country for the major events. The money I've spent during the last 7 years borders on insanity - basically visiting Georgia and Florida at least twice a year summer and fall to play against the best.....but where they really lay the most brilliant of webs is within their rankings systems...
To their credit, PG is very upfront about how to climb the rankings - and that involves dropping $1k to attend their individual showcase events. Attend a showcase so our evaluators can blah blah blah......but that's the key. I've seen some decent players that dump money into those showcases year after year and they steady climb the rankings.....and I've seen the opposite occur with greater frequency. My kid for instance started top 100 but we've never sent him to one of those events (committed as high school freshman) so just didn't see the need.......and he's steady dropped into the Top 500. Bottom line, the truth comes out in the end regardless of rank. Gotta show it when the lights come on....
With that being said, Mason Albright, Tyler Deane, and TR Williams are all the REAL DEAL....
Hope we can keep Mason and Tyler from signing MLB contracts and hope that TR continues his phenomenal recovery arc.... This game is absolutely about marching DUDES out to the hill. Each one of those guys is a Friday night ACC starter...
