Most VT basketball transfers are looking for more minutes, which means

they are not going to be a huge irreplaceable loss for VT. Of course there are some exceptions. Some players just are not a good fit with the team, coach or even the school (hard to imagine but true - biased opinion). Still a few players will blossom and decide VT is too small a stage and they need to take a step up to a bigger stage. Most basketball transfers seem to me to be bench role players with signs of a higher ceiling that we wish would have stayed because they could possibly turn into starters after current starters leave. A good coach who recruits well can typically find replacements for such players, even find better players. That is why we ache over transfers and then soon forget most of them.
