I do think it's more that just earning an extra year's salary
If playing basketball is purely for financial reasons then you go pro as soon as you can. Not sure that's truly the case with Aluma given he went to Wofford and pro ball probably didn't enter his mind until the last year.
There are other financial considerations, but the bigger one is experiential. Does he value another year of college at $100k or less? Many people would, including the thousands of students who are paying $60k out of pocket just for tuition. It's tough to put a price on primetime life experiences which is why I think he'll return next year.
Keve is a really smart kid, I doubt his career is going to end at the end of his playing days, so maybe a final year being the BMOC without COVID restrictions and a shot at becoming a VT legend is worth it.
